Our schools reopen to in-person teaching and learning Tuesday, Jan. 18, on their regular schedules. The one exception is Earl Boyles Elementary School, which will be reopening Tuesday in temporary remote learning due to ongoing, severe staffing shortages.
We continue to carefully monitor staff absences across the District as cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 continue to spread. If and when staff absences create unsafe conditions due to a lack of adult supervision, some schools may revert to temporary remote learning.
Thank you for your patience as we took two days off last week so that our schools and staff could prepare for a sudden pivot to remote learning.
As students come back into our schools, please remember:
- Wear a well-fitting mask at all times indoors. Masks must thoroughly cover both the mouth and nose.
- Continue social distancing to the extent possible.
- Thoroughly and frequently wash or sanitize hands.
- If you are eligible, get fully vaccinated and boosted. The vaccines have been proven to help prevent infections and serious illness, hospitalization and death.
Thank you, and we will continue to update you as things change.
